Lisanne Veldman-Marinus
“Behaviour tells you something. It is a signal that wants to be understood.”
Lisanne Veldman is a music therapist, teacher and autism coach. She likes to look beyond what is visible. With genuine commitment, she works alongside children and young people to discover who they are, what they want and where their potential lies. Especially in their search for identity and independence, she wants to stand beside them, with an eye for their vulnerability as well as for the strength, talents and possibilities every person carries within.
Her background as a music therapist forms the foundation of her work. As a freelance trainer, she works with Autisme Centraal. Among other things, she teaches the six-day training programme for autism-friendly coaches and gives workshops within the BreinWijs programme for teachers and special needs coordinators.
In everything Lisanne does, one belief is central: every person is made to flourish. Sometimes that means looking differently, understanding better and responding to what someone needs. Not by taking behaviour as the starting point, but by exploring what lies behind it. Because when someone feels understood and is given room to be themselves, they can grow and flourish.
